• Led the Core Historical Literature of Home Economics (now the Home Economics Archive) initiative, a grant-funded project to identify the essential historical literature of home economics. Searched bibliographies and catalogs, built databases, evaluated approaches, supervised student employee. Cooperated with principal investigator and others in writing proposals for further grants to preserve these materials. This effort resulted in a major preservation project and led to the publication of lists of the "core" literature to guide collection development decision making.
• Participated in other preservation and special collections activities: led project to protect illustrated works in the collection, built the web site advertising the Dean's Fellowship in the History of Home Economics and Human Nutrition, curated a small exhibition on the history of home economics. This was a part-time appointment.

• Acted as first point of contact for patrons requesting help in library or by phone or e-mail. Conducted reference interviews, advised on research strategies. Directed and instructed patrons in the use of appropriate print and electronic indexes and reference materials.
• Participated in producing library documentation, including general guides to library resources for various field of engineering; the Instruction Librarian and I devised the format for this set of tools and produced them. Edited the Library newsletter twice a year (the editorship rotated among three staff members).
• Offered classroom bibliographic instruction. Taught classes on creating Web documents and on web design.
• Responsible for conservation tasks including book repair, cleaning, and rescue efforts during water and environmental emergencies. Train and supervise student Book Repair technicians. This was a part-time appointment.

• Investigated and advised on strategies for protecting nineteenth-century illustrated works in the general collection. Conducted literature reviews, sought expert opinion, developed and evaluated pilot projects, created survey instruments. Wrote policy statements and presented the project to administrative and advisory boards through written and oral reports. This was a part-time appointment.
