Bibliography of Sources

Authentic designs are the basis of almost every piece we make. We have noted for each what our sources were – for those items we copied after a published artifact, you can enjoy looking at the originals too. This bibliography covers all but the most incidental of our sources, and can serve as an introduction to the literature on medieval pewter brooches, signs, and knickknacks.

In its most recent incarnation, sometime around 2021, Kunera has come to have a much larger proportion of the published items than before. The images are of poor quality, but if you do not have access to printed sources, you may find it useful to see an original or to compare various objects. We will be adding citations from Kunera for many items, especially if they are unpublished or hard to find, and may be able to go back and gradually add links for items we made in the past. To use the citations, go to https://kunera.nl/. Choose between Nederlands and English; go to the database; and search the cited object number. There is currently no way to link directly.
