This style of charm holder – with a small, four-petaled flower – is ubiquitous in the archeological material. We ourselves own two original examples. Several examples from the Netherlands were found with their pendants still attached; these include a swan pendant, a representation of a pair of shears, and a pair of tiny three-dimensional pattens. All are dated around the late fourteenth or the fifteenth century.
