Cuckoo Brooch

$5.00

This charming brooch represents a cuckoo, a bird famous both as a herald of Spring, and for laying its eggs in other birds’ nests. It is unusually realistic for a medieval pewter depiction of a bird and besides being appropriate with your garb, it makes a lovely gift for a non-reenacting friend or relative who is interested in ornithology. The original was found in Rotterdam and dated 1375-1425.
