Large Fleur de Lis Brooch

$5.00

Although the fleur de lis is now associated primarily with France, it was widely used in the Middle Ages. It may be a heraldic charge, stand for any of a number of cities (including Florence), refer to the Blessed Virgin, or be purely decorative. This large, handsome fleur de lis brooch was copied from a 15th century British example.
