Toy Bosun’s Whistle

$12.00

This whistle in the form of a bosun’s call was copied after one found on the Thames foreshore and probably can be dated to the 14th century. It is large and attractive, with two convenient loops to suspend it around the wearer’s neck. It must have been the pride of many a small boy with dreams of going to sea. Although it copies a bosun’s call, it is a toy and it behaves like a whistle without the ability to make a series of tones.
