Bosch’s Guardian Devil Brooch

$5.00

Bosch’s Guardian Devil. The original of this little fellow (dated 1375-1425) was found at ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the home town of the painter Hieronymus Bosch – which gives you a feeling for the kind of place he grew up in. Like our other devils, he has a protruding tongue, on his shield body, as a sign of warding off evil.
