She Devil Brooch

$5.00

Here is the She Devil – cute as a button and with her stylish coiffure placing her firmly among the fashion leaders in the halls of Fourteenth-Century Hell. Could we see her kirtle, it would surely be blue! Dated 1325-1375.

Marianne is fixated on the devil brooches, and this is her fourth. Almost all, as you see in the gallery photo, have protruding tongues, which art historians and folklorists identify as apotropaic, or warding off evil. We can’t promise that – but we are sure she is awfully nice.
