Eagle Ring Brooch

$6.00

This large and handsome ring brooch in the form of a heraldic eagle will look magnificent adorning your kirtle or coat. The brooch is copied after one of the molds found in Magdeburg (Germany); the molds are dated to the middle of the thirteenth century (no later than 1284).

The trove of molds from Madgeburg includes more than 100 separate molds that produce ring brooches – and many of those molds cast more than one brooch at a time, usually of multiple, varied designs. The historic mold we copied had two identical eagle brooches, but our mold casts only one. It is a two part mold, with a wooden core for the pin.
