Sex Pot

We have always felt that one of the hallmarks of our work – and one of its greatest strengths – is that we are willing, even eager, to admit that we are ignorant and sometimes flat-out wrong.  This is one of those cases. In working with this mold to replace the core stick that left an opening in the pot’s bottom Mac began examining the one photo we have ever seen of the real object. We have this photo in two versions – one of them has a straight line running from the lower left of the photo; in the other printed version that line has been erased from the image. it’s been a while, but we now think that line was our only “evidence” for the construction we proceeded with, involving a hole in the pot’s bottom and a string that made the little penis stand up when pulled or dragged on by a pendant.

As you see, Mac had a new idea about the evidence and he has moved forward with it. Our current (or soon to be current) version has a shorter pot (more like the photo) with a solid bottom. The penis now lies in the vessel until you tip it up – at which time it pops out to surprise and delight the onlookers. Less complex, closer to the evidence — and with a larger penis!

Like all the Moving Violations, the Sex Pot does more than just surprise your grandma. In this case a small pot with a long, dragon-headed handle contains a penis that flips out when the vessel is tilted. The original came from 14th-century Bruges and is now in the collections of H. van de Pas in the Bruges museum (see the second image in the gallery).

The previous version is no longer available – and we apologize if you were partial to it. The changes to the mold means that we can no longer produce it. We hope you will love the new version just as much!
