This excellent mouser is a favorite with our customers. The banderole says “VISI MUS” – “look at the mouse!” There are numerous examples of this motif among the pewter badges; this brooch was copied from one in Salisbury, dated to the 15th century.
The cat has an evil twin, found in the Netherlands. You can find it among our naughty objects.
