Round Stud with Stones

This tall, remarkably handsome stone is copied after an early 15th-century example in the Museum of London. Like that stud, one in our collection has lost the stone it almost certainly once had and has only an empty socket.

Fits straps 13/16 inch or 18 mm wide, or wider. The tall setting needs a to be combined with a buckle with a substantial opening – contact us if you are not sure if the buckle you like will work.

Although you can order any number of any color stone you like, we do offer a small break on rainbow mixes:

Description

Album – original, mold and cutter. NEED LINK The finished mold with the raised areas that create the hollow backs in the studs. This deeply three-dimensional, hollowed-out shape saves mass and material and permits the molten metal to solidify without ugly shrinkage in any thicker part of the casting. Making this sort of mold is a difficult and time-consuming process, which involves carefully fitting the pieces together many time. In the case of this mold, it was between fifty and a hundred times and it took two days.
