Comet Brooch

Price range: $8.00 through $10.00 plain/painted

It’s not clear whether the original was heraldic, religious, or just cool as all get out. We know which ours is! The originals will have had either mirrors or pieces of (probably flat) colored glass in the opening. We will supply them with mirrors, and also with some colored (although not flat) glass. (We used to offer red and garnet as separate options – the last time we got stones, there was virtually no difference between them. We now have one choice of reds: “dark red.”) The black painted comet is supplied with an onyx stone.

A copy of a fourteenth or fifteenth-century British brooch (of which several variants are known) found in Salisbury.

See how we made the mold in this Tech Talk.
