The first brooch we made – although this is the second version of it! When we started, we thought you had to glue the glass stones in, but now we drop the stone into the mold in a specially shaped depression, then pour the pewter right in on top of it, and it is caught as an integral part of the casting.
Copied from a Netherlandish example dated 1350-1450.
